I am the co-founder of Revolupedia, a (now-defunct) communist MediaWiki project founded in June of 2024.

This project was created after a split on another left-wing wiki, Leftypedia. Leftypedia was an interesting project, but it had serious limitations with regard to being “left-unity” which allowed for opportunists to enter its editor team, and required neutrality between leftist tendencies, including ones such as Dengism.

Revolupedia was established on the exact opposite principle – no unity, ideological purity and standards! This was all well and good, but the problems started to come after the organization Revolupedia was established under, the Red Spectre, started to developed some… unorthodox ideological stances; they were Hoxhaists who rejected Hoxha as a “centrist.”

I was the only Red Spectre member who resisted the anti-Hoxhaist stance, which resulted in me being temporarily purged from the administration.

Things got interesting in early 2025, after the Red Spectre and its successor organization, the Communist Labor Organization, disbanded. Suddenly, Revolupedia had no line it had to comply with besides its own editor team’s. Initially, it maintained a centrist line between Hoxhaism and anti-Hoxhaism, but soon became fully Hoxhaist… for about a few months.

I became a Maoist in June of 2025, and, as the de-facto owner of Revolupedia, this made things interesting with the rest of the (mostly Hoxhaist) editor team. Eventually, we reached a compromise – “anti-revisionist unity.”

This was all well and good, but soon, more Maoists joined the editor team. At a certain point, the majority of editors were Maoists. Things had to change, and soon, Marxism-Leninism-Maoism was the official ideology of Revolupedia.

Things were alright… except for us essentially becoming a propaganda outlet for a certain newspaper I will not name, and dogmatically adopting the stances of the International Communist League. Unfortunately, I was manipulated into giving up Maoism by the local “Hoxhaist” party in my country. This was very foolish, and I very much regret my actions, but in short, Revolupedia split, and was destroyed by February 2026.

There was an attempt to restore it, but it quickly failed.

If Revolupedia is ever restored, it needs to have, principally, a solid, concrete ideological line on which to base the articles and editor composition. It also needs to steer away from online drama which the original project sometimes entered.

What are your thoughts, comrades?
